Standby RSG UK Limited operates a quality management system that has gained BS EN ISO 9001:2015 certification, including aspects specific to specialists products for the professional automotive user.

The management has a continuing commitment to:

  • Ensure that customer needs and expectations are determined and fulfilled with the aim of achieving customer satisfaction
  • Communicate throughout the Organisation the importance of meeting customer needs and all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Establish the Quality Policy and to set Quality Objectives at relevant functions, levels and processes

End of Life Policy


Standby RSG UK Limited, understands, accepts and confirms they will meet their obligations under the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). The objective of this policy is to specify the applicable products affected by this directive and to detail the policy and procedures for the return and safe disposal of WEEE.

Applicable Product

Any finished product is subject to WEEE regulations. A finished product is defined by any product with an Standby RSG serial number attached. Typically these products could be Light bars, Controllers, Switch panels, Video equipment, Data logging equipment etc.

Standby RSG UK Limited - Limited Liability

Under the U.K. implementation of the WEEE directive the following RSG Engineering Ltd. definitions will apply:

  • Historic WEEE – Goods supplied before 31st December 2008 shipped with product serial numbers prior to 118379
  • New WEEE - Goods supplied after 1st January 2009 shipped with product serial numbers later than 118380

Standby RSG UK Limited, will register as a supplier of WEEE with the Environment Agency and make all the necessary declarations with regard to WEEE returned to them.

At the end of life, Standby RSG UK Limited, will accept the return of WEEE for the safe disposal and recycling as per the following:

Historic WEEE – Liability for Historic WEEE is applicable only where like for like purchases to replace the existing products is being negotiated.

E.g. If 40 of product A are being replaced with product B and that product B could be described as a replacement for product A, then the return of product A for recycling under the WEEE directive is acceptable.

If no like for like replacement sales are being negotiated, then Standby RSG UK Limited is not liable for Historic WEEE. In this situation, Standby RSG UK Limited may, at its own discretion, quote for the safe disposal of the goods.

New WEEE – Standby RSG UK Limited, accepts liability for New WEEE at the end of life and will dispose of safely or recycle goods wherever possible.

As defined in the Terms and Conditions of Sale, Standby RSG UK Limited. does not accept any liability whatsoever for the remote collection, shipping costs or packaging of returned WEEE. All costs associated with the return of WEEE will be born by the customer. In the event of any WEEE being returned to Standby RSG UK Limited. a returns authorisation number must be obtained from us that must be clearly indicated upon the accompanying returns note and packaging.

Customers are responsible for the costs of shipping goods to Standby RSG UK Limited and Standby RSG UK Limited accepts no liability whatsoever for any such costs.


Environmental Policy

General Statement

Standby RSG UK Limited is an Electrical Engineering business whose operation is restricted to the distribution and assembly of products from procured component parts.

It is the policy of Standby RSG UK Limited to take proper consideration of its environmental impact while conducting its operations.

Company Responsibilities

Standby RSG’s environmental conduct is founded on the statutory requirements of environmental legislation and wherever possible Standby RSG strives to exceed these standards in the best interests of all.

Objectives and Commitment

The environmental principles of Standby RSG UK Limited are:

  • Compliance to all legislative requirements and environmental regulatory provisions;
  • Optimisation of energy and water usage;
  • Minimisation of pollution and the encouragement of environmental practices as an integral part of the Company’s strategy;
  • Development of environmental awareness and individual responsibility for environmental management; • Achievement and maintenance of monitoring to assess environmental performance;
  • Encouragement of suppliers, contractors and customers to make a commitment to environmental standards;
  • Development of a programme of objectives and targets to show continual improvement;
  • Consider the environmental aspects when planning or reviewing new or existing procedures, processes or equipment in order to minimise environmental effects;
  • Development of procedures / plans to respond to abnormal occurrences and emergency situations to give environmental protection;
  • Review environmental effects of activities, processes performed and products produced on site.

Legal Obligations

Standby RSG UK Limited recognises the legal obligations placed on it by the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and other statutory legislation that may be applicable to the Environment.

The Directors are responsible for the implementation of this policy. Senior managers and employees have been allocated responsibilities to ensure that the environmental management of the site activities is effective and that the aims of the policy document are achieved.


Modern Slavery Act

Anti-slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

Policy Statement

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person's liberty by another to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. Accordingly, Standby RSG UK Limited have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

Standby RSG is also committed to ensuring there is transparency in its business and in its approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains, consistent with its disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Standby RSG expects the same high standards from all its contractors, suppliers and other business partners, and as part of our contracting processes, we include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children, and it expects that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.

This policy applies to all persons working for Standby RSG or on its behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, seconded workers, volunteers, interns, agents, contractors, external consultants, third-party representatives and business partners.

This policy does not form part of any employee's contract of employment and Standby RSG may amend it at any time.

Responsibility for the Policy

The Standby RSG UK Limited Board of Directors has overall responsibility for ensuring this policy complies with its legal and ethical obligations, and that all those under our control comply with it.

Standby RSG’s Quality Assurance (QA) function has primary and day-to-day responsibility for implementing this policy, monitoring its use and effectiveness, dealing with any queries about it, and auditing internal control systems and procedures to ensure they are effective in countering modern slavery.

Management at all levels are responsible for ensuring those reporting to them understand and comply with this policy and are given adequate and regular training on it and the issue of modern slavery in supply chains.

Readers are invited to comment on this policy and suggest ways in which it might be improved. Comments, suggestions and queries are encouraged and should be addressed to the General Legal Counsel.

Compliance with the Policy

All recipients must ensure that they read, understand and comply with this policy.

The prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any part of Standby RSG’s business or supply chains is the responsibility of all those working for it or under its control. You are required to avoid any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy.

You must notify Standby RSG’s QA function as soon as possible if you believe or suspect that a conflict with this policy has occurred or may occur in the future.

You are encouraged to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any parts of our business or supply chains of any supplier tier at the earliest possible stage.

If you believe or suspect a breach of this policy has occurred or that it may occur, you must notify General Legal Counsel as soon as possible. You should note that where appropriate, and with the welfare and safety of local workers as a priority, we will give support and guidance to our suppliers to help them address coercive, abusive and exploitative work practices in their own business and supply chains.

If you are unsure about whether a particular act, the treatment of workers more generally, or their working conditions within any tier of our supply chains constitutes any of the various forms of modern slavery, raise it with Standby RSG’s QA function. Standby Standby RSG aims to encourage openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith under this policy, even if they turn out to be mistaken. Standby RSG is committed to ensuring no one suffers any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting in good faith their suspicion that modern slavery of whatever form is or may be taking place in any part of its business or in any of its supply chains. Detrimental treatment includes dismissal, disciplinary action, threats or other unfavourable treatment connected with raising a concern. If you believe that you have suffered any such treatment, you should inform Standby RSG’s QA function immediately. If the matter is not remedied, and you are an employee, you should raise it formally using Standby RSG's Grievance Procedure, which can be found in its Company Handbook or can be requested from the Company Directors.

Communication and Awareness of this Policy

Training on this policy, and on the risk Standby RSG business faces from modern slavery in its supply chains, forms part of the induction process for all individuals who work for Standby RSG, and regular training will be provided as necessary.

Standby RSG's zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery will be communicated to all suppliers, contractors and business partners at the outset of our business relationship with them and reinforced as appropriate thereafter.

Breaches of this Policy

Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct.

Standby RSG may terminate its relationship with other individuals and organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy.
